Structural Integrity Services Branch, within Central Engineering Support, provides inspection, materials, structural analysis and plant lifetime management services to ensure the safe, reliable operation of the company’s fleet of nuclear power stations.

Working in the Inspection Group, within Structural Integrity Services Branch, you will be supporting the remote inspection/operations activities on our nuclear power stations. Your normal duties will be based at Barnwood, Gloucestershire, working a 37 hour week both in office and laboratory environments. Working at our Power Station and other sites will also be required which may involve extended day and weekend/public holiday working, entry into radiological areas, working at heights, high noise environments and in confined spaces.

An opportunity exists for a high calibre HVAC or Building Services Engineer within our Central Engineering Support Function at our Barnwood office. Working within our Gas and Auxiliary Plant Group you will be an experienced engineer undertaking a key role in providing technical support to ensure the safe and reliable operation of our Nuclear Power Station Fleet.

You will investigate, analyse and resolve technical problems at our power stations. This will include specifying plant modifications, preparing safety submissions, investigation, review and resolution of plant issues and support to Technical Governance within the plant area.

• Support Head of Financial Control to establish, implement and manage Nuclear New Build (NNB) Credit Risk process, procedures and methodologies, in line with EDF Energy (UK)’s Credit Risk Policy, to ensure NNB’s credit exposure from its procurement activities is accurately measured, monitored and mitigated.
• Assist and lead in the negotiation of credit support documentation as well as key credit provisions in procurement contracts.
• Management responsibility for Credit Risk Analyst.

To ensure the Quality Assurance requirements for the supply of Materials, Equipment and Construction Works are rigorously applied and enforced in accordance with the Project Procedures and Standards. This position is one of oversight and stewardship, and large scale project experience is required. An in depth knowledge of heavy civil projects such as bulk earthworks and reinforced concrete structures is essential. Familiarity with nuclear civil engineering standards: ETC-C and ETC-F and concrete standards: BS EN 197-1, BS EN 206-1, BS EN 8500 and UK Building Regulations is required, with experience on the implementation of safety and environmental regulations.

To enact the role of intelligent customer for the electrical systems aspects of the safety case for new build. To understand the requirements placed on the electrical systems, structures and components (SSCs) important to nuclear safety by the safety case and to ensure the safety case is not compromised during the design, procurement, construction and operational phases.

To develop within Design Authority a knowledge of the electrical systems related to the UK EPR Nuclear Steam Supply System and its associated plant, how they are designed, will be manufactured, installed and commissioned, and how integrity of the design can be maintained.

This role sits within the Environmental Permitting Team within Nuclear New Build (NNB) Genco and will support the process of applying for, and building arrangements and capability to comply with, key operational environmental permits – especially Radioactive Substances Regulation for new nuclear power stations. This is expected to evolve into an operational and compliance support role within NNB in the future.

The role administration assistant will be one of a team providing PA/administration services to the DIN UK team at Hinkley Point C. The specific team they will be supporting is the DIN UK team, however they may assist across various teams as required.

This is a very important and influential post, which requires excellent strategic leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills. This post is based at Barnwood, Gloucester.
